I prefer the ps5 overall and if you do have a pc there is no point at all getting an Xbox.

Well, I am not a "pc" gamer. I just have a laptop for casual things, but obviously it doesn't have the gpu and storage for gaming. So I just wanted an upgrade and I liked the idea of consoles. Also I live in the Netherlands and the ps5 is €700+ here while the xbox is 'only' (still a lot) €500.

How old are the old games you want to play? The PS5 can play more than 99% of the PS4's library. That's basically every game released on PlayStation in the last 9 years.

The Xbox can play about a third of the 360's library and a handful of OG Xbox games - which is a bit of a shitty selling point for a 500 buck console in 2022.

Go for the series x you won't regret it. Had trouble finding a PS5 so bought the series x and it with gamepass and all my old Xbox one and 360 games and I'm set.

If ps5 is more expensive and you don't care much for exclusives than go with xbox. Take into account though what you want to play, what your friends play on, price, etc.

End of the day both consoles are great!

I mean they are very close spec wise. I have both but find myself playing my Xbox more as I have game pass and I know ps has the same thing but I'm still not a fan of streaming games. And the backwards compatibility of the Xbox whether disc or digital seals the deal for me. But again it comes down to what you are going to be playing. PlayStation exclusives are great and all but if you don't care for horizon or god of war or any others then in MY OPINION lol I would go Xbox hope that helps and happy gaming 😁👍

if ur new to console gaming, do u already have a PC? if u do, then I'd say go for the ps5 for the exclusives.

if u don't care about exclusives or the games u would probably play are cross platform then Xbox would be good.

I think you should get a ps5 for all the exclusives

Last of us is on pc, right? I think I'm just gonna end up going with the series x and when I have the money I'm just buying an epic gamer pc with ps controller to play the exclusives (and all the other games I want, but with keyboard and mouse)

Switch pros: Portable, supports more modern games than you would expect, tons of exclusives, some backwards compatibility (NSO and ports), pro controller is awesome

Switch cons: Weird controllers, joycon drift, less powerful, awful online

I dont like using batteries for a controller. Id rather just charge the controller in the night and play during the day, with a charging station.

I have a PS4, saving to upgrade to 5.

PS has way better graphics that can do 4k and 1080p both at 120fps. Xbox can do both. I heard both has Discord but Xbox has better integration than PS. I also just dont like how the left xbox controller joystick is further away than the right joystick, a bit too uncomfortable for me. In terms of games, PS has put a paywall behind PS Now making it unable to play older PlayStation titles. Xbox has way better backward compatibility. I, as a ps user envy how cheap xbox game pass is: £20 to Sony's £50. But, PS has 12 main exclusive titles that follow:

Astro’s Playroom

Deathloop

Demon’s Souls

Destruction AllStars

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Gran Turismo 7

Horizon Forbidden West

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Returnal

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

... compared to Xbox's 3

Forza Horizon 5

Halo Infinite

Microsoft Flight Simulator

I personally think that both are good and there is no true winner- but I'd go for PC

I'm switching from PS5 because it kinda sucks. I've always been a ps fan but I've been super disappointed lately. The new subscription tiers suck, the controller is worse, you're more likely to be banned and you can't even play offline games when you're banned. So that's just money down the drain.

Gamepass is alright, don't care about day one releases. Kinda nutty the price is double of ps+. Larger selection of games and better selection though. Also better about bans and better customer support.

Tldr; Ps only has exclusives

I've a Series X and a PS5. While the pimped out older games on Series X is nice, it's a pretty fucking lame selling point for a new console in 2022.

If I want to play PS3 and PS2 games, I have a PS3 and PS2 (turns out, I've already played most of them to death, so I don't actually want to play them).

Okay good for you, most people don't have a PS3 and a PS2. To me, nothing but exclusives kinda sucks. That's a pretty lame selling point especially when a majority of exclusives end up going to other platforms anyway.

Sorry for late reaction. I don't have a pc. I have a laptop that a play gta v and minecraft on. So I just want to get a better device to play some nice story games on my couch and after that I'm gonna save up for a gaming pc, but I am only 14, so I just don't have a lot of money rn. And I wanna play less competitive/more relaxing games so I can focus more on school and sh!t.

But it's not "nothing but exclusives", it's still got all the other games. You might also want to review your use of the word "majority" here, because the majority of PS exclusives are still exclusives to PlayStation.

And if you're salty about that, let's look at Xbox using the same criteria - it effectively doesn't have exclusives.

Im gonna use it on a 4k 100 tv with hdmi 2.0b so it should be able to output 100hz 4k using hdmi 2.0b and I just don't think the series s is a good deal, because it has 500gb storage + no disc reader + lower specs + it is white

Chanze3 t1_iv581h4 wrote

alright, if you've got a 4k tv then it's a good option. i do have both and most of my games are digital so series s is a competitive contender. but honestly both are great consoles and worth for the price.

have fun with ur new console!

Hey listen. I get you're a console fanboy so you're unable to think past ps good Xbox bad but like I said, I like both. I just don't care about exclusives and that's their biggest selling point. Also idk why you're stupid enough to assume I didn't know there's other games like? Nothing but exclusives refers to their selling points since I have to make this easier for you to understand.

"It effectively doesn't have exclusives" Well no shit I said I don't care about them. And sure, if it'll make you stop crying, my bad for using the word majority.

Like do you get off arguing about consoles? Idk get why both console fans hate each other so much. You're acting like a child and your comprehension is also on the level of a child.

Lemme just state it again because I know you're just going to bitch about Xbox and say I'm hating on ps. BOTH ARE GOOD.
