My friend has an old Xbox one s which is slowly going. I want to buy them a new console for Christmas. I was going to buy them an Xbox Series S, but from what I found it's digital games only and I know my friend will hate that.

I know the Xbox Series X is the stronger, better console, but are there any things I should be aware of before buying? Common issues? Personal opinions?

Additionally, any headset w/mic recommendations to go along with it? Ideally a headset which can control game volume separately from chat volume?

Console wise if you can afford it, I'd recommend going with the Series X over the S at this point. Recent articles come out about devs asking Microsoft to move away from the Series S due to hardware limitations. I'd expect to see a new more powerful Series console in a couple years and them phasing out the S for newer games or making it more a Xcloud console, leaving the Series X and whatever the new one will be.

Headset wise I've loved my Steelseries Arctis 5s, use it in my consoles and PC super comfy, lightweight and has great sound quality.
