I grew up playing Playstation in the US, but then moved to Nintendo consoles until 2017 when I got my first Xbox. I opted for Xbox because ABXY could easily be remapped to Nintendo‘s arrangement. Perfect.

Nintendo, it's what I'm used to, whenever I pick up an Xbox controller (or other controller with the same layout) I always screw up the buttons if the game tells me to push A I usually push B first and vice versa, same with X and Y.

From left to right the Nintendo uses BA YX, xbox uses AB XY. Poll is backwards

No the Super Nintendo uses the same layout as the Switch does.
