Heya, apologies if this is the wrong place to ask for advice. I wasn't sure where else on reddit I could ask this question.

I just got an xbox series s a while ago, but realised I have the problem of having to change cables between my nintendo switch and xbox when I want to play the other.

My monitor is an ASUS VS248HR, it has 1 hdmi port and 1 audio port. There are 2 other ports on there but i'm not really familiar with em.

Based on what I've researched it seems I need a hdmi switch for the hdmi? (someone confirm if i'm right)

But I have no idea what to do about the audio. I have speakers that are usb to audio jack. Is there such a thing as an audio switch or something?

I have the same issue. What I'm doing is having multiple hdmi cables In the consoles and just switching over the hdmi cables in the monitor

Literally a decent headphone splitter should do the trick for audio Iโ€™d imagine, for hdmi defo get a splitter. Try get one with a remote or something because itโ€™s a pain getting behind the monitor to switch every time ๐Ÿ‘

Just use an hdmi splitter(idk if they call them that but you get the gist). I got my friend one so he can use all 3 consoles on his 2 hdmi port tv. Lmk if u need the link to that one he used; it works well

You need an HMDI Switch or an HDMI Matrix

It's difficult to say without knowing more about the setup, but HDMI carries audio. So an HDMI switch should be all you need. But you could also get a headphone splitter. Or just use the headphone output of the monitor and plug that into the speakers. That way, whatever audio is being send via the HDMI will be going to the speakers.

UPDATE: Managed to get it working with just a hdmi switch. Apparently I didn't need one for audio after all since hdmi carries audio.
