I'm in the same boat myself, if my math is correct, they release a new console every 3 years on average. Meaning we aren't likely to get another Xbox for at least another year. Personally, I'm waiting for games that require the upgrade before i cave in and buy. I have an Xbox one S that is serving me very well in the mean time, so I can wait another year if need be
