I'm pushing 40hrs on GT7, enjoying it and only just scraping the surface. I had no idea it was received badly though... I'm curious so I'll look into that!

I think you might be referring to user reviews, from people who were pissed about microtransactions being added. As far as I can tell crtitics have given generally good reviews.

I chose Expert Mode on the initial setup screen and then manually turned off corner markers and reduced traction control. The cars handle great in my opinion... it's very typical simcade controls that I'd expect from Gran Turismo.

My only complaint is the occasional frame skips, but I am on PS4 pro, so I'd be curious to see how it runs on a PS5.
