I agree but it is literally a PC and not really "Jump in and play" as a traditional console would be.

tl;dr: Steam deck is amazing but only get it if you know what you're getting/what you want it for.

Make sure you know of the games you want to play are supported as there are a few games that have the supported tag but aren't anymore because they don't get updated after the first verification. Yet.

Some games can play even if they are labelled as unsupported but there might be some things you need to do first like use a specific version of proton or install the github build.

What steam is doing for linux gaming is fantastic but its far from streamlined or standardized atm.

I've just built a new pc and the guy at one of the stores I bought the parts for said I was foolish not to install windows 11 and nothing will work on it! I'm using mint and it's, erm, mint! Innit!
