If you buy a Wii, with a little work you can turn it into a brilliant retro games machine, plus you can play copied Wii and Gamecube games.

None! Ps5 or Xbox series X. The switch is light years behind them both

Thats only if you dont care about portability and you only play crossplatform games, Nintendo has some of the most popular exclusive games and since the Wii theyve never been competing for power, they are a game studio who makes consoles while MS and Sony is a console company who makes games

I hear you but the graphics are no where near the level of Xbox or the PS and the games they make are also very different. Suppose it’s a matter of perspective. I’ve had two switches I bought for the KIDS I find adults tend to play PS or Xbox

It depends on the use case and what games you want, though if you choose Xbox id sugest getting a PC instead if you uave money to spare and use Xbox play anywhere, then you get the console exclusives on PC without emulation and access to game stores like Steam as well as decades of backlog with emulators.

I know my mate said the same the thing the other day tbh when I told him I was getting the Xbox x and I’ve already got the ps5. Il think on it but it’s the size of the pc and the set up and the upgrades every few months for graphics cards n sound cards etc that I cba with tbh mate

It's unbelievable that in this modern day console gamers still believe that you need to buy a sound card and upgrade your PC every few months, man, you buy a PC and then upgrade it 5 years later

Nah it’s though is it coz I’ve got plenty of mates that only play pc coz they like to cheat n hack games easier and what ever else seedy shit them guys get upto on pcs haha n they upgrade all the time if they’ve got the money there always buyin new bits for it monitors.. better sound speaker/cards etc what ever! That’s the pc world upgrades.. with a console it’s plug n play for 5 years not the other way round.. are you from a different dimension?

crashdude_ t1_j06tkjh wrote

Dude you can upgrade your parts if you want to, PCs from 2012 are still capable of 1080p 60fps today on modern games, if you want a better experience you buy it, but you don't need to, and also hackers are not rampant on PC this is a complete myth

My mates are on them and it takes the piss not worth playin when it’s like that.. and yeh man like i said in my 1st comment it’s a matter of perspective pal init depends on what YOU want from your tech if it’s just games n online multiplayer etc then it’s gotta be the ps Xbox.. or a pc if your into them but the switch is different mate and you know it is

It depends on your budget OP but a used Switch lite might be in your price range if you don’t mind it being portable-only. I couldn’t afford the original Switch at first either and got a lite with the idea to upgrade later if I vibed with it once I had more cash. I ended up doing that as soon as I could!

That said, Nintendo e-shop sales are decent enough, but first party games rarely go on deep discount, so game price might also be something else to factor in. I’d plug a 3DS/New 3DS XL as a super viable alternative, since you can easily jailbreak it and download ROMs for the whole game library as well as a ton of Nintendo emulation (GB, GBC, GBA, original DS, etc.). I have a Switch and a Steam Deck but my trusty 3DSXL is still what I bring for my long commutes – it’s in my bag right now! It has so much to offer and is highly underrated these days IMO.

Depends.

Do you only want to play old out dated games or new content as it comes out.

If you only lame older ones with no content be one of those weirdos that get a wii

Or be one of the cool kids who wants to play it all... not sure old found in sock drawer games.

The Wii was amazing with certain games. Graphics are terrible but if you’re more interested in having fun instead of wanting pretty graphics it’s perfect. I still play Wii Sports Bowling to this day! (Avoid the WiiU though)
