Well, if you're looking for current gen exclusives (games not available on last gen), Xbox only has 3 currently. Looking ahead, you have Starfield and Elder Scrolls that will be current gen only, I believe. Neither of these have release dates. Starfield is currently 2023 but I wouldn't be shocked if that got pushed.

If you're hoping to play these, you have at least a year to save for a Series X (or, better yet, a PC). If you are interested in playing other Xbox "exclusives", well, you can already do that with your Xbox one.

I suggest upgrading the PS5 now since Series X has almost zero current gen exclusives. By the time they do, you'll likely have the money to upgrade your Xbox.

I get that, recently got an S, and had to sell the games I've collected over the past 7-8 years

I’ve got both. I’m a long time PS user, but went with series X for back compat and automatic performance upgrades on a catalogue I haven’t really played.

That said, after a year of series x I got a PS5 - PS5 with horizon FW feels more premium and next gen than anything I’ve played on series X.

Look at how much storage costs to upgrade on both. It changes things depending on your needs.
