Super Mario Party looks interesting, but also unusual from what games im used to. But maybe its fun, we got 4 controllers in total at this time.

It's joy-con only btw, that's the main drawback. You have to get more joy-cons for 4 players. It's pretty awful. But if you have more joycons its perfect

I have 2 red and 2 blue Joy-cons I believe. The originals that came with the Switch.

Will I need 8 of them for 4 players? Or is 4 enough to play all of these minigames?

You're fine then. Mine only had one of each so yeah

Does any of these games require membership to play?

If you want access to the online play, then yeah, but otherwise not at all.

Alright. Another question: For games like Animal crossing can you play it split-screen on the same console or does it require a second Nintendo Switch?

You can play animal crossing multiplayer on one screen, but i've tried it, and you're better off playing single player because the multiplayer just doesn't work.

I'd recommend Mario Party Superstars and NOT Super Mario Party. Super Mario party is one of the worst Mario party games I've ever played

Dang, they look similar, how come this is better than the regular Party?

The maps are a bit more engaging, the mini games on super Mario party are awesome. But the actual maps you play on are very simple and quite boring
