Hi! So I've been lugging around 3 ancient Xbox 360s for years now because of a lack of money from not being able to work. I play with one for a couple months, it dies, I set up another one. And so I've been rotating them. Yes, I know, absolute hell.

But now! I'm back to work (super lucky with my job that I love) and I'm getting a Christmas bonus in the form of a gift. I'll be able to spend about 500 euros. I'm now looking into an Xbox S. I realize it doesn't have a disk drive, so I wonder : is this the type of console that requires you to go online at least once a day? That seems like a hassle.

What I want from a new console:

  • to be able to play skyrim anniversary edition with mods
  • decent memory
  • no more crashing every hour
  • it would be nice if I can still use any Xbox 360 games I have on disk when I do decide to splurge on an external disk drive.

That's it, that's all I really need. I'm reading game pass is totally worth it so might add a 6 month membership to it. Im not the type of person who looks for all the newest games. Please let me know if I'm looking in the right direction for what I want - or maybe you have another suggestion! PC is out of the question :) thank you!

I don’t think you can get a disc drive at a later date, if you don’t want to lose access to your 360 library then I’d say go for the series x and out a little towards it yourself, I’m from the UK so I’m not sure of cost in euros but if you have 500 already I imagine it’s not a lot.

If you don't want to spend too much and don't need want to use your old discs use the series s because it's such an amazing upgrade from the 360 but if you have extra money buy the series x it's worth it in the long run because more space and also you have a disc drive but it's entirely up to you
