Im not sure what to get. I’m planning to get both eventually but don’t want to buy both right now. Now I have a question, what should I get first because i heard that in 2023 we will get a new PS5 so I’m not sure if I should wait for that and get the Steam Deck rn. The one thing that really drives me to the PS5 ist the new GOW game and of course the upcoming Jedi Survivor game and Spider-man PS5. I’m kinda split between both and wanted to hear some other opinions.

And if you say i should decide by myself, don’t >:(

Kind Regards and thanks in advance :)

(Edit)

I forgot to say what i like about the SD, emulation is a big reason i want to get it also the indie games and obv. the portability factor.

All I will say is, those games you mentioned will come to PC at some point anyway so you will be able to play them on your SteamDeck plus lots of other games that absolutely won’t come to PlaysStation

There is no guarantee that the Steam Deck will support those games.

But it is likely the SteamDeck will support them

In my opinion, It would be the Steam Deck as it's basically a computer because with a dock, you can connect it to a monitor and use the deck as a controller. Speaking of controllers, the SD can connect different controllers.

For the PS5, I would wait for the slim to come out.

That is an inferior computer gaming experience. Unless you play driving games.

Depends on your current need to be fair. For me it would be a much reasonable choice to go with Steam Deck because I'm rarely at my home, but if you dont go out much, I would go with the PS5. And I think (I read somewhere) that in 2023 there will be a new version of the steam deck and the PS5.

You always have to go with the ps5, unless you are a portable gamer.

Do you have a good gaming PC? If not then get a PS5. A Steam Deck is a great handheld to have to supplement your gaming needs but I would NOT recommend it as your only legit gaming device.

PS5 for sure. The steam deck is a great device but you are going to have many issues with certain games until they are ironed out. Ps5 until the deck gets better.

Ps5. And the 2023 ps5 only has 1 minor difference from the current PS5 I'm not sure what it is but going by my (crappy) memory they're removing the disc drive to make an all digital version or adding a fan somewhere

I've been holding off on getting a Steam Deck because I'm pretty sure there is going to be a Steam Deck+ or something like that announced in 2023. It's always like that with hand-held systems. On the other hand, they are also going to announce a new PS5 in 2023. So I don't know man I'd hold off about 6 months if you can on both of them until you find out what's happening with both of them.

You mention portability. Think about how often that's what you use (or have to use if TV is out of use) that should be a deciding factor.

I recently sold my PS5, not long after getting my steam deck but that is more down to the fact that portable is where I play most of the time. I played lots of remote play when I had the PS5.

The TV experience of the PS5 is much better than a docked deck. But the steam deck is capable of many things and the price value is insane. It's a PC!

Then there's also game prices. Much cheaper on PC. But can you wait a while for those new releases? I know I've answered your questions with more questions but they should be the deciding forces. It's your call 🙂

Steam deck because it's a portable device and you can take it everywhere. Oh so you can play many games on it

Easily PS5, especially if you want to play new AAA games going forward.
