Look at game pass. Do you want to play those games, or do you want PS exclusives? Easy as that.

PS exclusive are always amazing. The series x does have features such as quick resume and typically better availability for games with game pass. Have a look into it

Xbox has gamepass, PS5 has PlayStation Plus. Same thing

I‘m a PS fan. But the game pass is a lot different. You get different and newer games with it. PSPlus has a lot more games though. You can also play it on PC and there are ways to get it a lot cheaper. I paid 80€ for 3 years of Gamepass Ultimate.

What are you talking about? There’s 700+ games on psplus there is 100 on gamepass

You are right. I corrected it in my post.

I'm not sure how it works now since the switch from PS Now to PS+, but you could get PS Now on PC, too.

It’s levelled Basic you get 400+ games plus live Medium you get 500+ (I think) and live Platinum package you get 700+ games plus all the ps1 games and live I think I pay £13 a month maybe £14 and I go for the platinum

The xbox controller is very very good, fits very nicely into adult hands (check it out yourself in a store, play a game in Media Markt or whatever you have available).

If you are worried about the positions of the analogue sticks, then don't be. I use both layouts on different machines and it only takes a second or two to mentally adjust to the other the thumb position. The xbox layout has a hidden advantage, where you can strafe right while rotating to the left (so both sticks tilting to the center) and your thumbs don't interfere with each other (don't touch, blocking the other from easily using the stick).

how do you hold your controller for your thumbs to touch on playstation controllers? i've never had that issue

1

CyberKiller40 t1_j2wos1x wrote

Let's see if I can describe this... I cover the analogue cap with my thumb, putting the center of the cap in the center of the last section of my finger (like behind the lower potion of the thumbnail), which means there's a few mm of my finger sticking outside the stick cap. I hold the fingers more or less 45° rotated to the center of the gamepad, and when tilting both analogue sticks towards each other, my thumbs touch, preventing the full tilt of the sticks.

This is a problem for me on PS4 pads, and quite severe on PS3, though doesn't really happen on Logitech F710. I'm an adult, nearing 40yo, my hands have slightly longer than average fingers. This seems like a thing related to the size of the gamepads, I imagine PS1 dual shocks could be unplayable for me.

The controller to be fair is personal preference This may have been true for last gen also but this gen not so much. The controllers now are fairly similar.

Con of controller on Xbox - you have to buy charging less if you buy the power back, batteries or whatever to constantly change the batteries which are awkward to get in… ps you just plug in to charge

Con of PS5 - it is big 😂

Con of Xbox - exclusives are piss poor imo and not one Xbox exclusive has ever won game of the year. They might win awards but not specifically game of the year. Many ps exclusives have

Con of ps5 - the library is extensive and can make this hard to choose and for the full package it is slightly more expensive than Xbox but not by much

Replaceable batteries are a big advantage of XBox controllers. If you have kids, you have AA akkus anyway. 2 sets of these means only a few seconds break to change them if they go out, no cables ever. Plus when they die you just get new akkus, not a new gamepad.

Amelia210192 t1_j2ydpqr wrote

But majority of people buy the rechargeable batteries and it’s not eco friendly to use those batteries as you go through loads. You literally use the cable to charge and that’s it… you get two controllers with the ps you get 1 with Xbox 🤷‍♀️ literally every Xbox owner I know has this same gripe. Bit weird if you take the batteries from kids toys to sort your own toy out as it’s selfish 🤷‍♀️ buy a battery grenade at least so you avoid that. If the controller is your only thing then you need to actually ask yourself why you game as there’s a lot more than just a controller

CyberKiller40 t1_j2yfemb wrote

What? What loads??? Rechargeable nimh die like once every 4 years. So in fact it's super eco friendly, unlike dumping whole ps controllers.

Amelia210192 t1_j2yn0rr wrote

None rechargeable do not You’re on about both The batteries in controllers last much longer My controllers from my ps4 are still standing 9 years on

Stick with PS5 if you want a better controller, exclusives, MORE games on the CHEAPER subscription service, cheaper and faster SSD upgrade options, a larger player base for online play...the list goes on.

Lol okay PS fanboy let's give both sides of the story. Controller sure PS5 is more next gen but I find the Xbox to be more comfortable and the sticks better.

Exclusives yes PS is winning big time. But I'm more excited about the games coming from all the studios Microsoft bought like Starfield and Redfall, and if the Activision deal goes through things will really start turning before this generations over.

The Xbox comes with more storage out of the box. I personally will never need more storage, unless you're a gamer who keeps a lot of games saved. But sure expandable storage is more expensive for Xbox.

PS online is not cheaper, it's literally the same price as Xbox live or Game Pass. PS has quantity over quality. Sure there's more games but there's a TON of junk, crappy games you don't want anyways on there. Xbox gets more day 1 access and AAA's which is the real money saver.

Larger player base? Who cares, most games are cross platform and that's never once mattered to me.

The reality is both consoles this generation are impressive and fun to play so let's cut the childish console war debate.

The only point of mine that was objective is the better controller. Everything else is a fact. When facts hurt feelings, the REAL fanboys come out. Yep...there you are.

yaboyyake t1_j2utxyi wrote

I'm a grown ass adult do you think my feelings get hurt if someone says the PS5 is better? Hahahaha get outta here man, I own a PS4 and I love it. I'm trying to help this person make the right decision for them.
