Campaign solo play, PlayStation. Online, social play, xbox. Wrapped in a blanket vegetating plus occasional local social, switch.

IMHO

Hardware wise XSX is more powerful than the PS5, has more usable storage, better BC, you can install Retroarch and more features for less money, then you have GamePass

If you like Halo and shooters, then Xbox Series X is absolutely the way to go! Not to mention great games like Gears of War, High on Life (huge release and big fan base for that exclusive now) and Redfall (check it out) is also an exclusive coming to Xbox in a few months. I’m really looking forward to exclusives like Redfall, Starfield, and the new Fable. You can always play shooters like COD, Far Cry and Destiny on Xbox too of course.

The Series X is basically a high powered gaming PC. Plus you have Game Pass to play or try out various games and exclusives. If you want a variety, I’d get a Series S and a Switch, but if you’re hardcore into shooters and open world adventure games you can’t go wrong with an Xbox Series X. I love mine.

If I am not wrong and you like online FPS, I would go either Xbox or PS5 route. It depends on which platform all your friends play.

In my case, I went to the Xbox route and I don't regret it. Moreover, I would expect more FPS coming to Xbox, as idSoftware, MachineGames, The Coalition, Arkane or 343i. Maybe CoD and Activision too.

So, it's up to you. You won't regret anyways!

People say that but it’s not true. Outside of God of War, Spider-Man, and Last of Us, there wasn’t much I cared for on Sony exclusives. I went back to Xbox and I’m happy with that decision. Xbox has exclusives like Halo, Gears of War, High on Life, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Sea of Thieves, Forza, Redfall, Fable, Starfield etc. I’d take most of those over what Sony offers. To each their own.

As someone who moved from Xbox to Playstation, I would suggest Playstation if you’re more inclined on story/solo games and some famous games like The Last Of Us, God Of War, etc. Xbox is great for multiplayer games and if you like Halo then buy an Xbox.

Personally, I moved to Playstation as I had no one to really play multiplayer games with and it is more fun to achieve trophies on PS as they have more value. Completing games to 100% on Xbox is not as rewarding as it is only 1000 Gamerscore (mainly) per game and I was looking for a bigger reward for completing games to their optimum. If you’re looking for a more rewarding system convert over to PS as you can trophies which mean more, there are bronze, silver, gold & platinum trophies.

However, Xbox is way better at backwards compatible games like you can play Xbox 360 games on a Xbox Series X and even original Xbox games like Red Dead Revolver, Silent Hill games, old CODS & more. Backwards compatible games on PS are lacklustre, you cannot get PS3 games on a PS5 mainly - only if you have Playstation Plus by which you can stream them with but only a select few on the service. If you’re fancying Red Dead Redemption 1, that game is only available on Xbox too as Playstation no longer has it backwards compatible, you’d have to buy a PS3/2/1 if you want to play older games.

I did have Game-pass but none of the games on Gamepass really captured my attention to be honest. If you want a wide selection of games for cheap then choose Xbox as you can also play the Xbox Gamepass games for free on PC with PC gamepass. Not to mention, you can get Fifa and stuff for free on Gamepass if you’re into football or any type of sports games tbh.

In my opinion, I found the exclusives were my main incentive to move onto Playstation as the solo games/story games were very limited on Xbox and exclusives on Xbox seemed to be Indie games that I was just not interested in. If you prefer to play alone and like to play story games then Playstation is good for you (Playstation also has a lot of multiplayer games but their access to older multiplayer games are limited such as old PvZs (which has servers still full on Xbox)), but if you want to play online with multiplayer and sports games then Xbox is better for you.

I’ve looked in the comments and I wouldn’t even recommend choosing Nintendo Switch if you’re looking for online shooter games.

With a PC you will get all the benefits of PC plus xbox titles. If you don't have/want a PC, xbox is a great console.

With a PS5 you will get all the sony exclusives, some of which are really really good and don't come to PC until later.

Switch should be looked at as exclusively hand-held for nintendo titles. If you're not a nintendo junkie and don't travel frequently I wouldn't get it, especially with the steam deck out now. The system is horribly underpowered and runs everything worse than all other systems. On a full-size screen it looks bad because of its 720/1080p max res. The app-store sales are terrible, better prices everywhere else.

So in short I'd choose PS5 or xbox (leaning towards PS5) and then the steam deck if you need portability. Switch for nintendo games.

It is a better deal to get an Xbox because the Xbox has more storage than the PS5 and is cheaper and lets not even get started about the Nintendo switch. The Switch has far worse specs than the Xbox and the PS5

Of course it does

The PS5 is already showing signs it's shader starved with lower native resolution, more framerate issues especially in high framerate titles

This is also before we see any DX12 Ultimate based games which will allow the use of the rDNA2 hardware features.

We haven't seen a gap so large between vendors so far the previous gen was just 4CUs either way advantage on GPU, XSX has a 16CU advantage over the PS5

If Microsoft aquire Activision by June which they reckon they will, then I'd say owning an xbox will give you an advantage when xbox makes those future games exclusive, imo its inevitable they will do it even though they say they won't, or at least charge the competitors to have it on their software

It doesnt show anything. Many people who got PS4 controllers would of experienced stick drift, its not a console exclusive. It happens on everything from PS1s to PS5s, and from the Xbox to the Xbox Series X. Theres always gonna be some faulty controllers, no matter the console and manufacturer

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.

It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.

Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.

Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

It's true that there is no option in game (for example, MW2 crossplay disabling is a PS5 feature and this depends on the Activision sode), but you can block the crossplay in the Settings - Account & Privacy Online safety from the console for every game.

I wish the crossplay could be only with consoles...

Just buy a computer, the Playstation have abusive prices and in X Box there are no good exclusives, except for the halo. I been playing on ps for a long time, but I don't recomend it if you realy want tĂ´ buy a console you should go tĂ´ X Box

Yeah man tell them right to these ps fanboys. What do they have besides those three games you listed and Uncharted, Demon's Souls, Horizon, Gran Turismo, Death Stranding, Sifu, Ghost of Tsushima, Returnal, Bloodborne, Days Gone, Shadow of the Colossus, inFamous, Detroit... Wait...

[deleted] t1_j3alv1j wrote

Bloodbourne is great. Shadow of the Colossus was amazing too. But that’s back on PS2 before the remaster on PS4. There’s plenty of great games on PlayStation. I don’t get into the fanboy arguing. I’m just saying Xbox has a lot more exclusives than the Sony fans want to admit. Plenty of great games on Xbox, Sony, and Nintendo. It just comes down to personal preference.
