Hey everyone!

I have the option on bidding on either a used Switch Oled, or a used Ps4 pro 1tb. The each cost around 250 dollars, which should I get??

More info: I don't play much! I have a busy life, but ever since I moved out, I dont have room for a proper pc setup. I like to (the few times I do) play singleplayer, rpg's, maybe smaller indie titles or the few big blockbuster games when I fancy it (Witcher, horizon, Zelda and the like).

With this, do you have any recommendations?? Thanks alot!

Honestly I think it comes down to what type of games you'll want to play. Both area great, so it just comes down to which system has games that interest you.

Like the other redditor said it will come down to what you want to play I don't have much knowledge of the switch but the PS4 also functions as a multimedia device Netflix, YouTube, etc so it may be worth looking at that aspect as well to get the most use out if it

Hmm nice considerations, but I actually only need it for the gaming part. The rest is sorted:))

If you don't play much, Switch.

Most Switch games are easy to dip in and out of. I own both a PS5 + Switch. Love both but use the Switch for more casual/cosy gaming time on the sofa.

My vote goes to the Switch, or instead of a PS4, an SteamDeck. I know the base model is 64Gb and 419$ but honestly, i prefer mobility and power than a PS4. I say that because you commented you don't have room for a proper PC.

And you're right in that assumption! I think the portability actually matters more than I thought!

I come with another proposal... How about the Series S? It contains lots of RPG and indie games included in the Gamepass and you have access to the new generation. More or less is the same price you want to pay.

If not, I would suggest going to the Switch route. You will have access to an extense library with a plus in the portability section. Moreover, it is the Nintendo's current gen, so I would not expect a new hardware at least until 2024.

It depends how important are PS exclusives for you. But as it is an old gen console.

PS: for your case, Series S > Switch OLED > PS4 Pro

Uhh that is a really nice response!! I actually didn't even consider Series S (why, I think the exclusives for PS4 and Switch have been more my alley), but it sounds intriguing!

You're describing a switch library so, switch.

Build a PC. It's not hard and it's better in the long term as you can do more than play games. What I mean is by getting a job.

I'm doing a bachelor's (and next year) in classical guitar performance. Although, you're right that a PC at some point will be valuable, I'm not physically in a big enough space (or economical need) where that is necessary. Thanks though:)
