you wouldn't be a jackass, no. games sometimes rotate on and off gamepass. and with a game where you can easily sink 100+ hours it would be a shame to have 75 hours in and then have the game leave gamepass. then again, if that situation does happen, you can always buy it just as you would today. at least at that point you know you love it.

That last point is why I really like Gamepass. I've wasted a lot of money on games I didn't wind up sticking with.

I will try games on gamepass, then buy them on ps5 all the time, because I like the controller/trophies/ecosystem more. its totally understandable that you want to play on another console though

My prefered place is ps5, I just don't know if buying a game is kind of stupid when it's avaliable on the other platform.

Honestly just depends on your budget, and preference. Im not a fan of Xbox, and literally only have it because of future releases for fallout and elder scrolls games. So what I would suggest is just looking at it game by game. Like I would check trophies, and try the game on gamepass, and If you really thinking I want to invest in it, go buy the ps5 copy, but if its something you think youll spend a day with then be over it, then just save the money, and get what you need off gamepass. You can also just wishlist an item and wait for a sale, while you check the gamepass version.

Oh, my budget says !!gamepass all over!! But my mind says ps5, because that's my preferred platform.

Depends on how much you like the game. If it's the kind of game you could put 100's of hours into or one that you see yourself coming back to over the years, then buy it on the system you prefer.

If it's a game that you think will have limited replayability then go gamepass.

Another thing to add to this is typically when a game is leaving gamepass, it tends to be discounted for gamepass account holders before being removed from the Program/Cycle.

However that being said I own many a dupe game and will always recommend getting the game on whatever system you mainly play on or if you want to play multiplayer to choose what your typical friend group has access to or available.

P.S. Not sure about other consoles but I do believe that Rise is Cross-Platform from the windows store to series s/x not sure about others.

If you have zero experience of a game then renting is maybe a good idea. Regardless of game.

However, in relation to monster hunter, don't bother, worst £15 I ever wasted. IMO....

If you have friends that play on ps5 I would say go for that version, if not give it ago on gamepass

So it's totally up to you. If you were playing like me (few hours per month), it would make no sense, but in that case you may save few bucks (I wonder, why the heck I got down voted..😅)
