I used to date someone who refused to learn how to drive because she was afraid intrusive thoughts would make her hit people

I respect this representation, my brother struggled with intrusive thoughts and he ended up ending his own life b/c of them, so this pic reminds me of that.

I know I'm just a stranger on the internet posting weird stuff so it doesn't feel like much but I am really sorry for your loss

The absolute best advice I ever received Re: intrusive thoughts is, when they appear, to “scream” at them in your head. Like, visualize yourself screaming “no” at the thought. For me, it really works. There is science behind this that has to do with retraining the neural pathway of the intrusive thought.

combating intrusive thoughts is basic meditation. The real deal.

I get some real bad ones, what I do often is I’ll grab a small object close to me(pencil, eraser, etc.) and squeeze it really hard. I focus on that instead and they kinda just fade away

As someone with an anxiety disorder I feel represented by this image. If you are currently under a similar circumstance, you must know that you are not alone and that there is a way out. If you can, seek help from a trained professional a psychologist and/or a psychiatrist.

The only thing comforting about this is knowing I'm not the only one who experiences this. Edit: only to say I really like it, excellent work.

All too true for me… I’ve dealt with intrusive thoughts since 7th grade (I’m in high school now) and they suck. The best way to shed them is to find a group that likes you for who you are. That being said, great work my guy

My Intrusive thought is vividly imagining biting as hard upon it as I can whenever I see a cheap metal cafeteria fork

if you don't have one i apologize for asking, but what is your mental illness?

seems like you pulled the confines of a bipolar mind... of course i'm bipolar so i guess this is just indirect praise for something that greatly puts the thought/depiction on paper..

I suffer from depression since I can remember, guess there are a lot of other things that I can't pinpoint exactly because I've never been actually diagnosed

don't feel like you don't belong ever man, i have forever and recently got diagnosed as being bipolar.. and don't let the new "woke" scene say you need it.. you are what you are without the diagnosis.. you don't need a doctor to confirm you are who you are. your artwork is amazing!

Looks like migraine. Just need to adjust one hand to the back of the head so that some of the spikes poke out straight through the eye sockets.
