I love the lighting and concept. Personally I would darken the smile and frown of the spirits. Amazing work though!

I really like this, reminds me Stephen Gammell’s stuff. Cool background information on it, too. Thanks!

As with any creature of the fey, if you don’t notice them they don’t notice you.

This is inspired by an experience from when i was younger. I was riding home at night in the back seat of the car. Street lights were making shadows on the side of my door. Im watching them, my mind was playing tricks on me the whole ride (seeing arms in the window, etc.). In the shadows, there was one that looked like the smiling one in the post, bouncing around the side of the door. Its smile kept moving too, almost like it was laughing. Another one just like it popped up, except it was frowning. The both stayed for what felt like 30 seconds. I was so scared i couldn't scream, i just made a noise and froze.
I'll always remember them. They didn't have glowing eyes, like the ones in the picture. Just shadows with holes in them for the eyes and mouth. They stayed too long and were too well put together. It could have been a hallucination. But it definitely wasn't natural.
