I literally don't understand that job. What are you supposed to be doing as a ticket taker or an usher?

You stand outside a theatre or in the aisle of a sporting event, and turn people away if they don’t have a ticket, or take the ticket and rip it in half if they do. Occasionally help people find their seats.
