Depends what they are searching for. Even local friends preferred Bing for international searches. I only used Baidu for searches in Mandarin on local stuff. Obviously can't speak for the country!

Bing is for foreigners searching international stuff. Most locals use Baidu.

Absolutely. But some locals use Bing for international searches. That was my experience at least.
