No Mercedes, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, GMC, VW...

You haven't included ANY of the top automakers

This looks like a list of the top sellers in Asia or China, minus Toyota. No one buys Dongfeng or Mahindra anywhere outside of China, India, and other parts of Asia. GM alone beats Suzuki on this list by about $10B in annual revenue.

The Ignorance and dumbness in this comment is unmatchable.

Mahindra is in top 5 in many African and latin american contries.

That's because it wouldn't scale well then. Im still surprised that this car type from ford makes more than many other brands

…except it’s not a comparison vs top auto manufacturers.

Or did Toyota, Mercedes, GM, and, uhm Ford cease to exist?

Fully agree here. The title is extremely misleading. I was so confused where Toyota and Honda were

This chart is awful to look at anyway. the bars are too noisy, too busy.

When they say F-Series, it’s always been a bit misleading to me. This includes F150, F250 & F350, correct? What about the bigger F450 & F550? I’d like to see GM Silverado & Sierra numbers for same sales period, just for a sense of scale.

Are those really error bars coming out of the bars, or is it yet another unnecessary visual element like the images in the bars and the picture of a truck at a weird angle?

CMastication t1_j1yu26l wrote

I think that’s just an Aerial font T on top of each bar to add to the visual noise

This is terribly biased data. Where are the top manufacturers you were talking about? Genuinely annoyed lol.

Yes, the title says top, but I believe the point of the post was to demonstrate the sheer quantity of Ford F-series. So perhaps a better title would be Ford F-series revenue vs other entire auto companies. But personally it seems like a lot of people are getting a twist in their panties.

It ain’t beautiful by any means which is the point of the sub. “Look at how many of these trucks are sold when I compare it to a very select number of auto companies to make my point.”

Methodology: In the past two years the best-selling car in the United States (by far) has been Ford’s F-Series. In fact, it’s made so much money it can rival top automaker companies entire business revenue. I took the base model price ($33,695) for the 2022 Ford F-Series model and multiplied based on the units sold in 2022 (check goodcarbadcar website for daily updated numbers). While there is some variation that is unaccounted for it’s fairly accurate if not even a slight under exaggeration.
-
Ford is the biggest U.S. automaker and generated a revenue of $151 billion so far in 2022, meaning the Ford F-Series accounts for 12.5% of all revenue. That $19.5 billion, if a company generated that amount, would be the 4th biggest U.S. automaker.

Why did you miss out a whole load of bigger manufacturers?

ajamke t1_j1wcz05 wrote

I don't think this is accurate at all for many reasons. First of all you took the base model price of the least expensive truck while there are a large percentage of sales that are not the base model of the f-150 so your estimated revenue of 19.5 billion is likely way too low.

Second, your list of manufacturers misses a lot of prominent car manufacturers. Looks like you missed the top 15 based on this site. revenue
