I just don’t think it helps at all. Getting a tattoo is a massive immune system reaction to foreign matter injected in your skin, it’s not sterile, there’s tons of bacteria on your skin before, during, and after that sticker gets slapped on there. I’ve had a lot of huge tattoos and Saran Wrap is good. Change it every 8 hours and clean the tattoo when you change it.

Second Skin and similar products are bandages. They protect the wound from contamination.

What's special about them is they keep shallow wounds, like a tattoo, moist. This helps keep scabs from forming and enhances skin regeneration.

Scabs are typically considered bad for tattoos because, if they aren't treated properly, they can pull ink out or leave scars.
