I do. Yiros and Gyros one and the same. Yiros primarily used in Australia where I made these.

Gyros is pronounces Yiros. Did people just get sick of it getting mispronounced and change the spelling?

It's amazing how little people comprehend that when phonetically translating a word from a language with a different alphabet the exact spelling is irrelevant and interchangeable

I understand your point. Except for when it's long-established spelling within the co-opting language. Yiros/Gyros each have some legitimacy, but it's not like it's a free-for-all for spelling on anglicized words.

Research homemade pita. It's pretty simple & game changing!!

This and 50/50 beef and lamb.

Not sure how any of the healthier meats like chicken or turkey and lamb would go... might have to test next time lamb is cheaper.

Though grilled chicken gyros are amazing too.

I've had to modify my source to one that's gluten-free since coming down as celiac in 2020... This one looks good, only 4 ingredients & tons of 5-star reviews.

I was all set to make pizza for superbowl Sunday... but now, I want gyros... 😉

Looks nice, but for me Gyros has to be pork.
