You're not wrong. Sometimes the pretentious gets in the way too, like when the sauce is amazing but there's only some little droplets or swishes of it on the plate, because it has to look elegant or sophisticated. Yes, presentation is nice, but not at the expense of actually enjoying the dish.

It was! I also had corn agnolotti, halibut with Roubochon potatoes, and Brussels, and an apple tart for dessert. The restaurant is called Copine in Seattle.
