I'm sorry, I can't see anything but the dog's forlorn expression. Are you about to eat food he thought you were making for him?

Never heard of cheese in fried rice, sounds sickly but I might have to try it anyway

Koreans actually do this all the time. You should use a very mild cheese though.

Mild and Oily like cheddar or stringy like Mozzarella?

aegookja t1_iu3qviq wrote

More like Mozzarella, but I just remembered my Sardinian friend telling me that "Mozzarella is not cheese 🤌"

Kimchi and cheese is about as classic as it gets

In what culture? Not China, Thailand or Indonesia as far as Im aware

Korean. There was a big push by the government somewhere around the late 60s to increase dairy consumption, for some reason, and it just stuck.

So relatively new, but very common comfort food. Kind of like Japanese curry.

Whah? No Spam? Gotta try using Andouille, chorizo, and Spam next time. The best kimchi fried rice I ever had used that combo.

Why is this downvoted. Spam is a popular ingredient in kimchi fried rice.
