Any subsitute for buttermilk? I cant find it where i live.
CubicDice OP t1_itxmmaf wrote
I've seen just doing pickle juice if you can get it in a large quantity, personally I haven't tried it.

Alright, i ordered some buttermilk online, wanted to do it this weekend but it wont arrive until next week, so i guess next week it is. Cheers. 👍🏿

Usually I get butter milk from Wegmans (that's assuming you're in the US)

I'm not, actually the complete opposite side of the world.
For the longest time i searched online, but that was way to expensive, like $3 for 300ml. Just saw a different brand one which is like $2.5 for 1L.
Basically 3.3 times as much for $0.5 less. 😂

Wow, that's crazy! Well it'll be worth it. I marinated the chicken for two hours in a zip lock bag (depending on the size of the chicken breasts, you may want to cut them in half). I double dredged them before frying (flour spice mix, egg wash, then back into the flour spice mix). I also use canola oil, but that's just my preference, I've heard peanut oil is also really good.

I am most likely going to use chicken thigh (personal preference), and then dredging, can't i just use the buttermilk mixture? Rather then the egg wash? I have seen people do that before.
CubicDice OP t1_itxsigf wrote
Absolutely, that's just my method! I've seen people mix in Sriracha/Hot sauce into it if you like it spicy.

Spice is always nice. ;)
