Toppings are olives, ground beef, tomatoes, and chopped up pickled jalapeños. Crust is a pizza-corn tortilla hybrid. I used Brian Lagerstrom’s recipe on YouTube.

Looks good but why the olives? Never heard of olives in a taco

The recipe I used was like a mashup of a supreme pizza & a taco. I think he was modeling it after a tombstone frozen taco pizza he used to eat as a kid. I like olives so I didn’t really question it tbh. It was delicious though, so no harm no foul

Fair enough, I love olives on pizza too. Just wouldn't think to put them on a taco inspired pizza

I love olives in a 7 layer dip, that’s what they reminded me of on here.

Glad you like it! People in here are really pressed about the use of olives.

Thanks! Yeah didn’t see that coming tbh. It’s a mashup of a supreme pizza and an American taco. I never claimed it to be authentic but boy are people pressed

It honestly was! Served with cold crisp shredded lettuce & sour cream at the table

WhiskeyTangoFoxy t1_iyf1imq wrote

This is the way! Add fresh sliced tomatoes too on top. A staple in the PNW.

Your crust sounds interesting, how was it?

Surprisingly good! Tasted like a pizza crust that had memories of a past life as a corn tortilla

DfenselessOldLady t1_iyd18m2 wrote

I worked at a place that had a taco pizza and they would put fresh cut lettuce on top after it was cooked. I was skeptical until I tried it but it worked surprisingly well. It tasted like a crunch wrap supreme

Bessiejaker420 t1_iydk5u5 wrote

Now all ya have to do is add shredded lettuce to the top, and viola taco pizza

2

Tsquires1922 OP t1_iydkg0n wrote

Yes! Served with shredded lettuce and sour cream at the table. Added the lettuce by the slice so it stayed cold and crisp

Now I want a Midwestern interpretation of a Mexican pizza. Refried beans and salsa instead of sauce. Then everything on this pizza. Yum!

pdht23 t1_iyf68qd wrote

I remember Casey's taco pizza having refried beans instead of sauce. Did you use beans for sauce?

2

Tsquires1922 OP t1_iyf6x2t wrote

No but that sounds good! Sauce was crushed tomatoes, blended with a couple chipotle peppers, tomato paste, chili powder, oregano, cumin, & salt

So by this logic everything I throw ground beef on is a taco?

−3

Accountforstuffineed t1_iyevxf4 wrote

No, but if you toss in taco seasoned ground beef, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, black olives, scallions, lettuce, and sour cream, then you could call it a taco inspired whatever. You don't seem very fun to be around.

Guy. This pizza looks good. If it ain't your thing, I understand, but taco pizza is excellent and this one is well executed. No need to be a douche about it. Even if you think olives are an absurd choice.

Just a dumb joke I read in another sub that I found funny so I (mistakenly) thought it would get a laugh here. I actually love taco pizza, had some the day after Thanksgiving .
