I’ve been on a cabbage kick lately! What all you got going on there?

First I fried up the bacon pieces, set those aside, and removed a spoonful or two of the grease. Then sautéed some onions in it and added some minced garlic until fragrant. Mixed in a teaspoon of better than bouillon chicken flavor, then added the cabbage and combined it all together. Cooked on medium heat for about 15-20 minutes, stirring often. I added a few shakes of garlic and onion powder, paprika, black pepper, a couple pinches of crushed red pepper, and 2 tsp each of sugar and apple cider vinegar. I added maybe a third cup of water along the way to help it cook down. Then added the bacon pieces back.

It really doesn't need much if any extra salt, between the bacon and the salt in the better than bouillon, its plenty savory!

I just looked that up and the ingredients are very similar. I bet mixing some buttered egg noodles into this would be delicious.
