Still there afaik, but I took this earlier in December. Yesterday they were advertising free food on sm because they over ordered, which reminded me of this.

ETA: not sure what I did wrong but the automod is claiming I’m self-promoting or something. I’m not, but I’ll delete I guess?

Okay so reddit is being useless again and saying you replied but not showing me it, could you let me know where you got it? I'd love to get another one of those

I replied but their auto mod filtered it 🙄 because I mentioned a social media platform (but didn’t link). My original reply was: I took the photo much earlier in December but I think they’re still open because I saw them advertising on another platform yesterday. I’m assuming you know the place but don’t want to name it in case the bot tells me off again.

That's country specific, not scandi style... I'm guessing Swedish because of the lingonberry and because hotdogs are different in both Norway and Denmark. Looks super delicious though :)

“Scandi style” = add a few Scandinavian ingredients in a combination that has never been seen in Scandinavia.

In this case take a German sausage, add Swedish lingonberry, then sour cream because why not, Danish crispy fried onions. Finally some dill because typically Scandinavian (for seafood, but whatever).

And viola - an almost authentic Scandiwanian style hotdog.

In reality though, Danish style hotdog toppings are ketchup, mustard, “remoulade”, raw and crispy fried onions and pickled sliced cucumber.

Swedish style hotdog toppings are ketchup, mustard, “Boston cucumber” and, I kid you not, mashed potatoes and shrimp mayonnaise sallad.

Lingonberry is indeed Swedish. And Finnish and Norwegian. They don’t typically top hotdogs with it though. The Swedish signature toppings are mashed potatoes and shrimp mayonnaise salad.

Shambles Kitchen in York. Today was the last day of the Christmas market so the stall will not be there from today. However, their main shop is on the Shambles and they have a street food place in Shambles Market. Definitely would recommend at any point during the year.
