I think it needs either sweetened coco powder in the filling or some more sugar. For my husband the coco power gave off too much of a bitter taste. Even omitting that and doing just cinnamon and sugar would be yummy.

Yeah I'm not feeling the addition of cocoa to a traditionally cinnamon/brown sugar cake
