Hell yea congrats!! Im sure your hooked..I know I was after my first time ducking a few years ago! I saw a recipe for duck with an apple chutney recently..your dish is kind of a deconstructed version of that.

Thanks! I sure am. A bunch of wood ducks fly through public land near me, and it's and absolute blast. Had them coming in and even landing with my decoys! Dropped one beautiful drake off at the taxidermist over the weekend. Definitely going to be a regular at duck season going forward!

Dude that sounds magical! Are you hunting in flooded timber? Getting a wood duck is definitely on my bucket list! What part of the country are you hunting in?

Yeah, nice spot flooded out by beavers. Actually mistook a beaver swimming by for a duck for a brief second! It’s in eastern NC.

That's awesome! I hope to hunt the flooded timber one day back east. Just moved to Idaho and got my first mallard off the Snake River at the beginning of the year. Going to try and get back out before the season ends at the end of the month.

Very cool! Definitely addicting. I sure would like to come across some mallards. They show up here once in a while from what I'm told. Good luck to you man! Hope you get a limit of them. You ever make your way out here hit me up and we'll hit some woodies.
