TikTok is no more manipulative or destructive than any other big social media app, most of which are based in the United States. These companies have made incredibly effective manipulation machines and they use them to advertise products because the real forces you're upset about are just the same motivation behind everything that succeeds under capitalism. It's all just rich people trying to turn workers against one another and give them a bunch of distractions so they don't organize for better working conditions.
