I went into a liquor store once and asked how much their JD was. It was higher than I wanted to spend so I said thanks and walked away. The guy got mad at me and yelled at me for coming in his store and not buying anything. This was in Boston and there were like 4 other liquor stores next to it, I was just trying to find the cheapest one.

Same. Felt odd at first, but got use to walking out of HD, Lowes, etc with my hands empty after spending 30mins in the plumbing dept looking for a specific fitting and heading to the next one 10 mins down the road. I am sure LP had their hawk eyes on me every time!

That too has been a joke. Most of the folks who work in the harry homeowner construction stores don't actually do the inventory. It is sub-ed out to other companies, who if you are lucky care enough to resort the fastener drawers and actually stock the commonly used items.
