Quite intereseting.
In Germany it is recommended to separate Bottle and cap (best also the wrapper) since it is easier to recycle that way: The parts are usually made out of different kinds of plastic

Not to mention when the plastic goes through a crusher it can be Dangerous if the cap goes flying off like a bullet
