The weirdest shit happened to me when he died. I was 9 years old, and I went to school legitimately upset about his passing. My friends at the time asked me what was up, and I gave them the news.

Out of freaking left field, they started telling me I shouldn't be upset and shaming me because they had heard Schultz was "the anti-Christ" and that I was wrong to have liked him.

It was the most bizarre and traumatizing experience, and I've never figured out what the hell it was all about.

I spent a night about 22 years ago crying while reading the tributes from dozens of comic strip artists.

My daughter got two giant books that contains all of the Peanuts strips when she was 6 and a year later, despite reading through both books multiple times, still reads them before bed a night or few per week. Thanks, Mr. Shulz.
