This was actually the first card that I considered as an upgrade from my old 900 series. And now prices are dropping I might actually go for it.

I'd wait and see what AMD has to offer with their next gen releases first. They announce it in less than a month.

Can’t do, I need CUDA for AI

It might lower prices if they offer something compelling though so unless you need a new GPU now, there's no harm waiting a little.

Whatever you buy, there will be something better next month.

And nvidea, to use with a gpu based render for 3D stuff.

Yeah but when the release date of something new is this close it makes sense to wait unless there is some reason you absolutely have to buy something right now, not to mention it will probably drive current gen prices down even more.

Not true, GPUs aren't announced every month. Or even every year. We are just a month away from new gen announcement , it makes no sense to not wait, unless your work depends on it.

Got mine for like $300. Happy with the upgrade from my 1060.

It's currently ranked 23rd in speed and the first one on the list that's priced under $500 right now.

User benchmark is not really reliable. It's very biased.

I used it a lot, what way is it based? Is there a better site to compare parts?

Its biased towards nvidia gpu’s and intel cpu’s.. they simply hate amd stuff lol..

Isn't it kind of late for that given the 4k series is coming out?

Biscuits4u2 t1_ir1d10b wrote

4k series is overpriced and the lower tier cards won't release for some time.
