I looked at it and it didn’t seem like a Microsoft product. I thought I read Microsoft, then I looked closer at the company name. Didn’t realize Mycroft was a thing.

Just had to do a double take when I saw the name. Is this something you’re involved with? You seem really invested.

There's a huge desire in the serious home automation world (read not people who have alexa and a smart light) to move away from Google and Amazon when it comes to voice assistance. Its an outrageously difficult task, but Mycroft are a player in that game.

Cool! Agree that we def need somebody to do it, google kills products on a whim if they don’t make money and Amazon has its own set of problems

Yep! I am pretty excited for some kind of smart speaker which doesn't sell your data in a heartbeat

I didn't make the connection with Microsoft. I see the resemblance now, M'cro...ft. I thought you were saying "I haven't heard of this company, so why should I care about this?" My mistake.

I'm not even a backer of this project. A bit out of my budget. Just thought it was cool, so I've been following their blog. Also I'm a fan of open source software and hardware. And like the other person said, they're the first real privacy-respecting alternative to the Amazon Echo.

Fair enough! I figured it was a misunderstanding, sorry for being unclear initially
