Another reason is DP 2.1. The RTX 40 series still uses DP 1.4a. But how good that reason is depends on the availability of DP 2.1 monitors.

I dont expect anything "mainstream" sooner then 2025 when it comes to 8k monitors.

8K TVs have been around for years and there is still nobody even talking about making content for them, because even with 20/20 vision you can't see the difference at any reasonable sitting distance.
