Hi all,

I’m a little out of the loop on wrestling games but I absolutely loved wcw vs nwo on n64 as a kid. Anything since that can hold up to that? Don’t care what platform. Let me know what you like and why.

i think wrestling empire on the switch uses a similar engine to those classic n64 games

I'm in a similar boat as yourself but ahead by about 6 months or so. I picked up wwe 2k22 looking for a classic wcw vs nwo revenge or a wwf no mercy and was actually pretty disappointed. I can see how some would love the game but if you're looking for a retro feel. That just wasn't it for me.

Def Jam Vendetta and Def Jam Fight for New York were both fond memories of mine.

I always enjoyed WWF attitude on PS1. Had super customization for it's time with arenas, entrances, characters, moveset, etc

WWE 2k13 and 14 are great too. Probably the last time they were really great. Could add custom music to entrances with the 360. Removed that feature after that era

For some reason, every wrestling game since No Mercy have unnecessarily tried to reinvent the wheel. Anyway, AEW’s upcoming Fight Forever is supposed to bring that No Mercy style gameplay back, so… fingers crossed. 🤞😁

Haven’t played any since smack down vs raw 2007, and my god was that game good

Any of the smackdown vs raw games tbh, wouldn’t bother with 2k because they’re all pretty bland content wise
