Developers are scared to death of the player getting bored or stuck so this is their solution, npcs rushing and giving tips constantly.

I noticed this heavily in God of War Ragnarok, it was one of my few complaints with the game.

I'm clearly trying to hit the stupid raven doing laps above my head. Shut up already about the damn fountain.

Perhaps freezing the water in that fountain could open a path, brother!!

Or worse, I am working on the puzzle but keep failing and instead it says that dumb shit after missing the fountain 10 times.

This nearly ruined Bayonetta 2 for me. The game encourages you to explore the level with rewards and extra challenges (that when completed net you more rewards). But at the same time a fucking kid follows you around going “TRY TO KEEP UP! BAYONETTA WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!”

And he doesn’t go away for almost half the fucking game.

Just started playing Guardians of the Galaxy. The game is mostly linear but with a few side areas. When you go to one of the side areas your teammates start talking about how you like to explore and stuff and ignore the main objective. Some of the bickering is actually funny.

Guardians handled the constant dialogue really well without letting it get annoying.
