What's that one game that you tried and thought you wouldn't get into it, or just wasn't interested in that genre in general but tried it and loved it afterwards.
Although I'm not interested in this genre I have been interested in Two games of this genre, I tried one of them Stardew Valley and loved it, still playing it as I'm still early in the game but it surprised me.
I have a weird taste in games as I am not very picky in terms of the genres I play, I play FPS, RPGs (especially JRPGs and CRPGs), some puzzle games (Like lost Vikings), 3d platformers, 2d platformers, retro FPSes, Metroidvanias, etc, I only don't like three genres.
Personally I never really liked farming in games, and for building I can get used to it in strategy games but in games like Minecraft I couldn't figure it out so I blowed up stuff instead, what surprised me with Stardew Valley is that one would assume I wouldn't like it with some of my preferences but weirdly enough I really dig it and I'm serious when I say it surprised me in how much I like it. For a genre that really isn't for me, I'll say Stardew Valley is a really good title.

Days Gone. I was pretty over the zombie scene but 2 friends both completed it and swore it wasn't a generic zombie game. They couldn't be more right. The story was compelling, the visuals were great, and it had a great pacing. It was really well put together and I'm sad it most likely won't get a sequel. It really deserves one.
