Additional info: casual gamer, work 10 hrs a day so I maybe have 1-2 hrs a day, 3-4 on the weekends.

I love MMORPGs (8000hrs in ESO, 6000 hrs Guild Wars 1, 2000 hrs Guild Wars 2, 2000hrs WoW, 2000 hrs DAoC)

I love Fallout Series (1000 hrs Fallout 4, 1000 hrs FNV, 750 hrs in Fallout 3)

I hate horror themed games, and I f you mention Dark Souls or Elden Ring, it’s a hard no (I tried and hated them).

Action/shooters are ok. I played about 1000hrs of Destiny 1 before switching to ESO.

I might try that for the first couple months. I think I’m going to keep fallout on the Xbox. I’m kinda tired of them (hence why I’m switching consoles). When FO5 comes out tho it’s on

On the MMO front there's both Final Fantasy XIV and Star Wars The Old Republic. They're a little more story focused, but you can play a decent chunk of the content without paying anything(though FFXIV is a subscription game like WoW at some point).

You can also get Gamepass for like $1 for the first month and try out a lot of games.

Also, I've been looking for a new MMO after getting tired of WoW: You know how ESO is doing these days, and if it's worth getting into?

I loved ESO dearly but I had a couple problems. First one is that I have kids and a job, so I couldn’t stay up late or use a mic at night. I lost out on a lot of content like trials (12-man raids) and pvp in groups.

The second problem was that I found it highly addictive. I would play it and kindve forget about the word around me. I found that I was less involved with my children, less involved with keeping up with the housework and more stressed out in general. Especially if something in game wasn’t going my way…my escape wasn’t much of an escape

On steam you have to get the halomcc, owning every halo up to halo 4 and having hours of custom community content to mess with is a good buy

Are these games a major time investment? I heard people log thousands of hours into them?

it's a casual sim/strategy game where you can conquer other civs or do some diplomacy run. it can be played solo so you can save and exit out at anytime but it's just addicting to do 1 more thing because you only need 1 more turn to finish a building but then you get addicted to just go 1 more turn.
