This game I was playing when I was a kid I literally can't find anywhere! It was 2D. You had to fly with a spaceship and destroy enemies. The stages were designed like you had galaxies and planets to go to and the further you got it was harder. Please help me find it!

Was it Star Control II? They did an open source re-release version that came out in the early aughts called The Ur-Quan Masters. If it isn’t that, I would still recommend you try it cause it’s S-tier either way.

How long ago were you playing this game? Was it overhead or side scrolling?

If I remember it right it was around 2004-07 and I was played it on a computer with windows 98 operation system

that's not the one but it's something like that, same type of game but you chose your stage in the menu

and the other thing, it' wasn't fps. overhead game where you could only chose the direction but there were no fps mode

Was it a side scroller? Or could you move in all directions?

1

molnarsaci OP t1_jaeonm8 wrote

I could move in all directions. But the camera wasn't moving

You had to aim in it and it wasn't linear, the scene was frozen and you had to move. You could shoot at satellites and other spaceships. If I remember it right there were bosses

Probably not the one but I used to love the hell out of Astrorock

FTL? 2D top down spaceship sim, you jump in and out of systems towards a Big Boss, sometimes there’s a battle, or trading, little story events that add or kill crew mates. Really fun.
