I actively avoided Minecraft for many years, and finally caved and checked it out in 2016. It's still the one game I keep coming back to.

Recently I've been surprised with how much I enjoyed Chained Echoes. I picked it up because all the hype thinking that it was just going to be another overpraised amateurish love letter to JRPGs. What I got did have lots of references to the classics, however its implementation and understanding how the systems interact with each other was surprisingly competent. Even with the reverence to tradition it brought plenty of original ideas to the table as well.

I'm having a blast with Forspoken, which frankly shocks the hell out of me.

Disney Dreamlight Valley. Never been one for the farming sim games, but love me some Disney characters. Obsessed over it for about 50 hours, getting all the friendships to level 10 and doing all the character quests. Grew hundreds of pumpkins and mined a lot of ore. Did the first content patch that gave Scar and Stitch, and haven't been back since.

Dark Souls 1, bought the trilogy pack because a friend kept pressuring me. Tried it, didn't like it. Then I played DS3 and got hooked, then I bought all fromsoft games and any souls likes I could find.
