FIRST OF ALL, I get it. Higher resolution and fps are definite improvements, and should become standard. I also get that video games change with time, and that no matter how good graphics are today, 15 years from now we're gonna look back and think that our current games look like crap, just like we do with N64 games and others from that era.

That said, I don't understand why, based on some comments I've heard around this sub and others, some of you outright refuse to play a 30fps, non4k game because you think it's "Unplayable" in that form.

I agree, it could and should be better, but I have played tons of Switch games that fit that criteria perfectly fine. Outside of something like an incredibly fast-paced online shooter,

(Which, by the way, can hit 60 fps perfectly fine on any console if it's optimized, which is proven by Splatoon 3 consistently hitting that number even in Esports matches[the only time the frames drop outside of if someone goes out of their way to exploit a glitch being if you get an absurd amount of bosses spawned in the co-op horde mode, to the point where you're going to be dead in a few seconds so it doesn't matter anyway]{Also, I didn't intend to bring up Splatoon or its framerate in this, I just went on a tangent, so please don't argue this in the comments})

how would these affect the game's playability?

Again, I'm not trying to start a fight. When I tried playing Fall Guys on my laptop after playing on the Switch for months, I said "Holy cow, that looks better" out loud. But even after seeing how much better it could look, I had no problem playing the game on my Switch. Do I wish it looked better? Of course. Do I need it too? No.

So, can someone please explain to me why you guys deem 30fps unplayable?

Edit: These comments are starting to make me worried that whenever I start mainly playing on higher level fps and resolution, because it's gonna happen eventually, I won't be able to enjoy some of my now-current, then-classic games due to their fps.
