Badly optimised game. It's a really bad port like Arkham Knight.

Funny because TLOU port developer, Iron Galaxy, also ported that POS Arkham Knight too

Why are they still in business??.. And why are they still getting more jobs??...

I think is hit an miss, depends on game. Check their wiki and see. If you think all their ports are bad then maybe they should close the studio.

can it be improved/fixed by the devs? was AK fixed?

flaggrandall t1_je3fmng wrote

AK was fixed months later. It was even taken down from Steam for a while if I remember right

Patrickk_Batmann t1_je4wuy6 wrote

AK was never truly fixed. By the time they re-released it, a new gen of hardware had come out and could brute force the game.

Edit: For those of you that don’t believe that you basically still can’t run AK on hardware from the time of release.

Not entirely true, sure, new hardware helps, but the game was beyond broken at release. It had to be somewhat fixed to make use of new hw.

Based on their Uncharted port: that runs pretty good now and is also originally by Naughty Dog and likely the same engine. Give it a few weeks / months.

worst than Arkham Knight because Arkham Knight don't require your pc have 10gb VRAM for it loading game

It's really funny. I had Arkham Knight on launch, running on the exact GPU brand that was reportedly the most problematic and I encountered no frame problems (outside of some crazy batmobile particle fx chases) and like maybe 1 or 2 crashes the entire game.

Then may as well emulate the ps3 version

Some people think they found the memory leak problem already - something to do with using an old dll of some decompiler, and replacing that file with a better one from another game fixed a chunk of stuff.

fireinthesky7 t1_je2vpmw wrote

Because it's unplayable. Crashes on launch constantly, and the two times I was able to briefly get into the actual game, it was running like garbage. I may actually request a refund through Steam and wait until Sony fixes it into something better than a beta test.

Does enemy outlines also not show up in the "listen" mode? I can't see anybody in it and it makes stealth somewhat difficult.

thighmaster69 t1_je41mmy wrote

Do you mean the literal outline or just enemies? The remake doesn’t have outlines, it kind of just shows a hazy figure like part II, unless you enable it in accessibility. I don’t know if better defined enemies in listen mode are locked behind an upgrade like in part ii though

UrbenLegend t1_je47y7u wrote

I don't see anything in listen mode. Screen just goes gray and that's it, no outline, no haze.

SgtBaxter t1_je4mon3 wrote

What's your video card? I see enemies in listen mode just fine. 3090 and my drivers are severely out of date.

drew1227 t1_je3n1pj wrote

for some reason they have the framerate locked at like fucking 5000fps. Once I found it and put it back to 60fps it ran fine. Maybe something to check out.

Take your pick: CPU at 100% in the menu, compiling shaders takes hours but if you skip that the performance even on recommended hardware at moderate settings is in the toilet, and if you do wait then it crashes once it is too late to refund.

People have posted a couple different solutions, which seem to have mixed success.

Patrickk_Batmann t1_je4x0nr wrote

Seems like the CPU being at 100% in the menu and the game needing to compile shaders might be related.

Bolaf t1_je4gwy1 wrote

Also skip a 10 second cutscene = 4 min loadtime

JoakimSpinglefarb t1_je3oy3g wrote

>but if you skip that

Well there's your problem.

TheLurkingMenace t1_je3w4w6 wrote

Read on... if you don't skip, then it crashes anyway, only now you won't be able to get a refund. The performance will be fine for the few minutes you get to play, so there's thar.

For real, does nobody read the whole sentence anymore?

I was hoping to buy and play this on Steam Deck.

Spiderman has been Amazing on in it (it starts up so fast!), as was Dead Space Remake.

This seems to run like garbage. Apparently it takes an hour to download and update shaders and there are 2 minute load times during cutscenes that were not in the original game.

Fuck Iron Galaxy and fuck Sony for hiring them to do a shit job on such an amazing IP.

I can see people with lower specs having a bad time with the game. I'm on RTX 3060ti with an I7 proc, after the shader compiling was done, my game runs smoothly at 1080p on high preset settings with DLSS on.
