Why did they stop making Jetpack shooters

Dude it's time to switch things up

I want to fly in the air and Snipe someone

I want to fly away like a coward when I know the other guy is better than me

I want fly through the map fast

I want to get frustrated when I shot the guy first but he used Jetpack to fly above me and win the fight

This adds a whole new layer to the gameplay and games like Splitgate were great but they didn't have the weapon variety and map design of a true Triple-A shooter

I miss cod bo3. Not sure why ppl hated it. To me, it was the best black ops game ever

Eh I only say CoD ‘cause I’m generally not an FPS guy outside of CoD.

DOOM, SW Battlefront and some other occasional Shooter yeah, but generally not… except for CoD.

Unfortunately, they shut down Eternal Crusade servers. Assault Marines with Jump Packs had been fun.

This is an older game, but are you aware of the game Dark Void? It's a jetpack-based third person shooter that was made for the PS3/Xbox 360 (and technically PC, but it isn't on Steam or GOG anymore).

Most games are designed with a console centric mindset and consoles can't aim very well, so flying through the air at high speeds doesn't work with the limitations of a controller.

this just isn't true

yeah playing high speed shooters is easier on keyboard and mouse but it's still very doable on controller and the real main reason it's harder is hitting the jump button while trying to aim

controllers are a lot better for aim then people seem to think and even have an advantage over a mouse when it comes to constant movement

Aim assist isn't really and advantage as much as evening the playing field. Not gonna say it's hard on console, but when I played cod back in the day I certainly turned it off.
