I've been playing Party Hard, and the unique challenge of picking off characters one by one feels like a really interesting basis for a game. The problem is, PH doesn't really deliver because all the NPCs are so dumb and just go back to partying on top of their friends' corpses, so I don't feel any sense of rising difficulty and I don't feel clever for standing near the edge of a boat as characters walk towards me one by one. Are there any single player games where you play as a serial killer?

Also, I'm already planning on checking out Hitman, so something other than that.

Just go play Hitman already because you don't need other options. They just brought out a new mode which is incredible.

If you’re young, you may have not heard of Man Hunt.

It’s a game that’s been banned by many countries, but I’m not sure if it’s banned in the US. I know I played 1 and 2 at the time.

But you’re basically a criminal in a special place where you need to kill the other people. I think it was like a competition. You can kill them in almost any way imaginable, and they were really creative with it. So creative it got banned. It’s a stealth, action type game, but I think it you really wanted to, you could just go up to people and nail gun them in the face.

It wasn’t like a shooter, just bam dead with a nail gun. It was a far more intimate endeavor and every kill was tailored, personal, and tortuous.

It’s the only video game I ever thought was TOO VIOLENT. Playing Manhunt as a kid was insane.

Hotline miami 1 & 2 are technically more about spree killers/mass shooters, but they technically fit the bill.

If you can find a way to play friday the thirteenth, you might enjoy that.

Dead by Daylight is obvious and multiplayer, but its there.

Manhunt 1 & 2 is about snuff films, but you do kill people to make those so... I dunno.

Hatred? Maybe?

I'd check out pretty much any entry from the Super Mario Bros franchise. Wait until you see how many turtles you get to murder. Dude is a sociopath.

Any game, really, just play like a serial killer. In Fallout 4 I'd actively hunt Brotherhood of Steel Paladins and keep their helmets as trophies. In Just Cause 3 I'd end every firefight by stringing up a body by the ankles.

So long as the game feels like the Predator is running through, it's a serial killer game.

I know everyone has already played them to death and this isn't the main draw of the game but...

Skyrim and Oblivion. Named NPCs with routines and personalities that you can stalk, plan and execute their murder if they look at you funny.

Additionally, both have assassin's guilds with missions that require you to really plan out your kills.

I mean I am playing through The Forest. I am supposed to be trying to find my son, but really I am just murdering cute animals and cannibals to build my bone armor and arrow stash.
