I haven't played a Spiderman game since Spiderman 2 for the PS2 and was torn between Spiderman: Remastered and Spiderman: Miles Morales. Remastered is older and has overwhelmingly positive reviews while Miles Morales is newer with only positive reviews. I welcome and will read all opinions. Thanks for your time.

Miles is a fantastic game that really helps build the story of one of the best Spidermans. Definitely play it after tho as it fits at the end of the main game. It is kinda like whip cream topping on an awesome ice cream sandwich.

I actually played Miles first (because my nephews wanted to play that more) and then went back to play Spider-man. I’m glad I did because I would have totally been disappointed the other way around. I liked Spider-man much better and it was a much fuller game.

I like how even tho they are essentially both spider man there is a distinct difference in playing them. Like Peter is exp and has years of knowledge and ability. His moves are more fluid from fighting to even web slinging whereas Miles feels much more like a beginner(at least till the end part). It is cool they manage to subtly tweak the controls to make them feel different

I liked it more than the main game. I thought the story was less convoluted with the tighter focus on just one antagonist and I loved the entire vibe around the Harlem neighborhood, with the hip hop beats in the soundtrack while swinging through the city and everything. I also liked Miles more than Peter. No specific reason, I just found him even more likeable.
Yes, it's shorter, but that also results in a more streamlined, focussed campaign, I think. Having said that, I'd also definitely recommend both. The swinging has a Mario-like quality in the sense that simply moving around is a lot of fun in and of itself. That's a very rare quality in video games, and Insomniac nailed it.

Both are great, even though Miles Morales’ story is significantly shorter it is still very good but the PlayStation spider man is by far my favourite iteration of Spider man

I agree with the others saying play both since the narratives go together. But if we're assessing each individually, I found myself slightly more in love with Miles Morales because of how embedded he was with the community.

Been playing the remastered first and having a fun time. I had the game on ps but could never play it, so I got it on pc so I can play on there plus the deck, which has been pretty good so far.
After I finish it, I’ll be playing the Miles Morales edition. :)

If you have the money definitely get the deluxe version of Miles Morales so you also get the remaster but keep in mind also if you are still on the fence the regular version of Miles Morales is on sale for 20 bucks right now at least in the US

I felt like miles morales was just a huge dlc and not a complete game. I still loved playing both games though. They were fantastic on the SteamDeck which is something I never expected. If it was me I would play remastered first and then miles morales.

Miles Morales is basically a large DLC pack and follows on the heels of Spider-Man.
Get Spider-Man first, and if you want more, get Miles Morales.

The last comparable game I played was Red Dead 2 which I sunk 100 hours into beating the campaign. Is it immersive like Red Dead can be?

No definitely not. It's much more gamey. Has collectibles boss fights and awesome gameplay mechanics. The story meh and it's not immersive at all since there are no mechanics specifically for immersing the player like in Red Dead. Like for example characters actually doing shit they would do in real life, taking care of your horse, realistic reactions from npcs to your actions and side activities you can do like poker or hunting.

Don't get this comment wrong it's a fantastic game and I'd recommend it to almost everyone, but for very different reasons than RDR2.

Well like is there like pedestrias taking photos of Spidey when he swings around? I'd call that immersive to some level. Is the world believably Spider man's stomping grounds? Or do people just ignore him?

They have some reactions to you, but you're not really supposed to be down on the ground much so they're generally just walking around and have a few voicelines.

As you know Miles Morales is shorter. BUT the web swinging is the best part of both games obviously and it is improved and feels more satisfying and agile in Miles Morales. But then you have Remastered which has better story and is a solid first, original game while Miles Morales is just a short sequel.
