That’s wildly overrating a flawed game. GOW could also be placed among the best games ever made as well

I’m just giving my experience. I played RDR2 straight after GOW, and going from intense and varied gameplay with tons of combat and enemy variety, to slow shootouts that play out the same every time just felt lacklustre

There is a specific moment in Gow that feels awesome if you played the previous games, but it's just a single moment, other than that there's no real need to know the rest to enjoy the game.

Who would’ve known that being a cowboy on Earth during the 1800’s is a lot different than being a Greek God living in a magical norse forest. The games each represent their settings perfectly.

Why would you even play RDR2 expecting to feel like a God of war?? You’re a human gangster outlaw making your way through the country. It sounds like you just aren’t very tasteful (only enjoy big flashy explosions and nonstop thrills)

Nah God of war is basically a reboot and RDR2 is already a prequel to the first game. So either way you’re good.

Ive never played gow however when you play rdr2 avoid spoilers at all costs. One spoiler could ruin the whole feeling the game achieves perfectly.

When did I ever say I expect them to be similar games? When did I say they didn’t represent their settings? You’re either making stuff up or have terrible reading comprehension

Maybe start with God of war, you can easily get lost in red dead and play for hundreds of hours (in a very enjoyable way)

RDR2. God Of War is very cinematic and pretty but the gameplay is mediocre at best.

RDR2 first!

Get the snow area at the beginning of RDR2 over with as quick as possible, then you can enjoy it.

God of war it’s more quick to complete and more fast and after you can try rdr2 both are awesome games

Rdr2 is my favorite game so far, but i'd start with good of war. Rdr2 is a game you should take your time enjoying it

God of war red dead will take your life for a while ......best advice I can give for read dead, is just live it don't rush your play tru explore the world .

I have not played RDR2 but i have played God of War. Loved every minute

Interestingly I felt the exact opposite way. I found RDR2's gameplay to be a bit clunky, but the story and cinematics were unbelievable.

The Sequel may be out soon but not on PC so OP won't be able to enjoy that for a while sadly.

Though I enjoy both games very much I would say go for RDR2. I'm not much of a cowboy guy but the RDR games are amazing. Some of the best stories, lots of fun to play, can be funny and sad. It has everything in my opinion. But as I said before, I also enjoyed GoW alot, also a good story and good gameplay. In my opinion you get more content for the money on RDR2.

You don't need to, but there are certain moments in God of War, or things the characters say/hint at, that you will have more appreciation for if you've played the previous entries. But in general, watching a story recap video of the previous games would probably be enough.

For RDR2, not at all. It's a prequel to RDR1 so whilst there are characters that you would recognize if you'd played the first one, it won't affect your enjoyment of the game at all imo.
